SUBJECT: Tennessee Wildfire Relief Committee
FROM: Fire Chief David Hodges, City of Maryville and President of the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association
Tennessee Wildfire Relief is a project established by the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association. The Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association is partnering with the Gatlinburg Firefighters Association in this relief effort. Here you will find the Unit Command Center for the ongoing relief efforts in Sevier County, TN. We are here to collect, distribute, offer advice, support and organization to the first responders of Sevier County. We also will attempt to manage the thousands of relief supplies and volunteers that are being received from across the country. We sincerely appreciate the offers for help and assistance. We currently need new children’s clothes, new children’s gloves and hats, winter coats of all sizes, warm gloves for all ages, new children’s tennis shoes, non-perishable food items, laundry detergent, personal hygiene items, school supplies, men’s boots, shovels and rakes, water hoses, work gloves, mops and brooms, and can openers.
UPDATE: THANKS TO ALL OF THE GENEROUS DONATIONS FOR THE CHILDREN, WE NO LONGER NEED CLOTHING! 12/14/16
We DO NOT NEED WATER AND USED CLOTHING.
The magnitude of this disaster has far-reaching effects not only in the state of Tennessee but across the nation as more and more of our fire service family are stepping up to offer help in the recovery effort.
